No.90 Mother's day にちなんで

Weary from a day that started at 3. am.

To soothe him from a nightmare,

weary from making breakfast and lunch and

dinner and cleaning away  the toys that

she constantly stepped on as she bruised her feet.
　　

　　
　



Weary from a day that didn’t contain enough time

 for a shower for her.
　

　
She looked into her son’s eyes, the same eyes

 she was forever grateful that she had a hand in creating.
　



She stroked his hair away from his forehead so that


she could breathe in the full beauty of this magical being,


and as she looked at him in a way only mothers can,






“You’ll never know the depth of love a mother has for her child. 
　

If you were injured and under a care,

I would find the strength to lift it off you, 
　　　


If you needed help and my legs were broken,


 I would find a way to run to you.
 　　　




If you were hungry and I hadn’t eaten for a week, 


  I would give you my only meal.”





　
 “Having you walk in the world is like having my heart


   walk around  without　me. 
　

　　
  What you feel, I feel.  I sense that you are happy 


   by the way you hold my hand. 
　　

　
   I hear the whispers of your heart when you are afraid. 
 

  I know what you are thinking by looking into your eyes.”
　　




  The little boy’s eyes grew very wide, and for once, 


  he had no challenge for her.


　
 So, for every mother on Mother’s day, 


  this is to acknowledge your love.


　

 This is to acknowledge that every day

 you do the best you can, no matter the obstacles.






 This is to let you know that your children notice, 


  even if it doesn’t always seem that way.
 　　


　　

 This is to acknowledge that a mother’s love has the power


 to change　the course of the world.  And it has.
